In Seasons of Depression or Weariness
“Mother Mary’s Prayer for Strength in Darkness”

Sometimes the soul feels heavy without explanation. Depression, sadness, or exhaustion drains life of its color. In those moments, Mary stands beside us, reminding us that even in darkness, God’s light still shines.
The Prayer
Holy Mother Mary,
My heart feels heavy. Joy feels distant, and my spirit feels tired. I wake up weary, and the days feel long. Even when surrounded by others, I feel alone in my struggle.
Mother, you know sorrow. You lived in a world that misunderstood you, and you carried burdens quietly in your heart. Yet you never gave up hope, for you knew God’s faithfulness was stronger than the night. Pray for me, that I too may find strength in my weakness.
Lord Jesus, through Your Mother’s intercession, lift this weight from my heart. Let Your light break through the shadows of despair. When I cannot pray, hear my silence as prayer. When I cannot rise, carry me.
Mother, I confess my discouragement. I confess that I sometimes lose hope. Remind me that feelings are not the truth, and that even in darkness, God is near. Teach me to hold onto even the smallest flicker of faith, knowing that a spark is enough for God to kindle into flame.
Help me, Mother, to endure this season with patience, trusting that dawn always follows night. Let me not mistake this valley as my home, but as a passage to new life.
Amen.
Reflection
Depression and weariness are not signs of weakness—they are human struggles. Mary shows us that God is close to the lowly and that He values our presence, not our performance.
Even when hope feels small, God is working quietly within us. Darkness may surround us, but His light cannot be extinguished.
Takeaway Grace
My weakness is not the end—God’s strength is my beginning.
Gentle Call to Action
