Paul was a man who knew the inside of a prison cell as well as he knew the open road. He was shipwrecked, beaten, and exhausted. Yet, from the darkness of a jail, he wrote letters about joy. He did not wait for his circumstances to get better before he found his purpose. He ran his race as if the finish line was always in sight, even when the path was covered in thorns.
The Reflection
You chose the mirror of the Long Race. Paul did not just have a moment of faith; he had a lifetime of endurance. You were guided here because you are in the middle of something. The initial excitement has worn off and now it is just hard work. Your mission today is simple: Do not stop. You are being refined by the road itself.
Today’s Mission: The Mile Marker
- Task 1: Don’t look at the mountain; look at your feet. Identify one tiny, one percent step you can take toward your biggest goal today and do it.
- Task 2: Find someone else who is struggling and send them a message of encouragement. Often, we find our own strength when we give it to others.
- Task 3: Choose one project you are ninety percent done with and get it to one hundred percent today. Do not leave it almost finished.
The Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father, renew my strength when I am weary. Help me to keep my eyes on the goal and to persevere through the challenges of this day. Give me the joy that comes from knowing I am running the race You set before me. Amen.
